Pink Hibiscus Fizz

Tart, floral, deep pink. The drink that makes everyone ask for the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 5 lemons
  • 3 cups still water
  • 3 cups sparkling water
  • Ice
  • Lemon slices

Steps

  1. 1

    Steep hibiscus and sugar in 2 cups of hot water for 15 minutes.

    Strain the deep pink syrup into a pitcher.

    Juice the lemons and add to the pitcher.

  4. 4

    Top with still water and chill.

  5. 5

    Pour over ice, top each glass with sparkling water and a lemon slice.

Leo's tips

  • Don't steep longer than 20 minutes or it turns bitter.
  • Add a few mint leaves for an even more refreshing finish.
  • Hibiscus stains everything pink — pour carefully.
