Ginger Citrus Zinger

A spicy, immune-boosting kick. Equal parts wake-up call and treat.

Ingredients

  • 4 lemons
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 thumb fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 6 cups water
  • Ice

Steps

  1. 1

    Simmer ginger in 2 cups water for 10 minutes.

    Stir honey into the warm ginger water until dissolved.

    Juice the lemons and oranges into a pitcher.

  4. 4

    Strain in the ginger water and add the remaining cold water.

  5. 5

    Pour over ice. Garnish with a thin orange slice.

Leo's tips

  • Don't peel the ginger — most of the flavor is right under the skin.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne for an extra kick.
  • Great hot too — skip the ice and the cold water.
